Your story

If you’ve got your own tale to tell about witnesses and violent crime, please share it with others on these pages.  You can do this in writing by email or by uploading a video to You Tube and emailing the link to us at mystory@witnessconfident.org

Your experience counts whether your role was as a witness, a victim or even a member of the public.  It doesn’t matter whether you formally engaged as a witness in the criminal justice system or not – this is your chance to set out how it was for you and why you think things were good as they were, better than expected or why they need to be improved.  By recording these experiences, you’ll help others understand what may be in store and you’ll be helping influence policy-makers and practitioners to get a good sense of the experiences - and so better value the role of - witnesses.

Please remember to include good and positive bits as well and if you have practical suggestions on how things could be improved, please share them. While it’s a summary of your experience – not your actual evidence about the crime – that we would like to hear, it will help if you can mention the year and the part of the country.

We will be putting a fair selection of the videos and the written statements on these pages as they come in. The first collection can be found on the drop down bar on the left.

Meanwhile as to videos, you can view some vox pops below, by clicking on each image below.  Start from the one on the left as they tell a story.
